MOTORCYCLE TIMES SUPPORTS THE 2019 RIDE FOR KIDS
ABOUT
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids (www.rideforkids.org) is the longest-running, most successful motorcycle charity event in the country. For more than 35 years it has fueled lifesaving research and family support programs for children and teens with brain tumors, the deadliest childhood cancer.
The first Ride for Kids took place in Atlanta in 1984, when a dedicated group of motorcyclists organized a ride to fund local research. With the addition of American Honda as presenting sponsor in 1991, Ride for Kids expanded nationally and the PBTF was established.
As the world leader in the fight against pediatric brain tumors, the PBTF’s mission is to care for families along their journey, cure all childhood brain tumors, and help survivors and families thrive. Since 1991, we have funded more than $30 million in scientific discovery to increase survivorship, improve quality of life, and ultimately eliminate pediatric brain tumors. We also provide emotional, informational, and logistical support to families, including the Starfolio Resource Notebook for the newly diagnosed, emergency financial assistance Butterfly Fund, and award-winning Imaginary Friend Society. Regional offices across the country provide critical on-the-ground support to families.
This year, family-friendly rides from coast to coast will bring motorcyclists together to honor childhood brain tumor patients and survivors, as well as remember those no longer with us. Pediatric brain tumor families are the “Stars” of Ride for Kids, accompanying motorcyclists on their ride and taking center stage during each event’s Star celebration.
Ride for Kids is supported by motorcycle industry leaders such as presenting sponsor American Honda, CycleWorld magazine, and the American Motorcyclist Association. Motorcycle dealers, industry partners and businesses in each ride’s community also provide support.

SUPPORT
For the last several years Motorcycle Times has supported this charity in many ways, including donating ad space, internet advertising and personal involvements through our riding group fundraisers. For that we can only pass the Thank You’s on to our readers. You make this possible. This year promises to be the biggest event of the last couple years.
With new leadership, a fresh outlook and some new ideas I’m predicting we can all have fun throwing Poker Runs, Scenic Rides, Bake Sales, Dog Washes, whatever it is that you do in your area to help out.
Then we will all come together to celebrate our accomplishments and have a great time at the Main Event in September! I’ve been working directly with the local principals and it’s going to be a lot of fun!
Stay tuned for updates as they happen!
