As we all struggle to get through this together our state campground association has obtained a limited exemption from the governor’s closure order. We cannot open yet for tent camping and we cannot use any of our rental units. After the middle of April, we are only allowed to have our seasonal campers and overnighters who bring their own RV unit. Many people have looked forward to our Annual Pig Roast in May and we do not know if that will happen on May 16 or if it will be rescheduled. We will keep people up to date on our Facebook page. For now, we just want all of our Steel Steeds family and guests to stay safe. We will get back to normal as soon as we can. Thanks, Camper Bob and Diane Smith
Cliff Matheson, Videographer
Greetings from Cliff Matheson, Videographer. I hope you are all safe and healthy at this time.
My motorcycle life started at 16 with a Suzuki AC50 fixer-upper. In the early 80s, restored a BSA B31 single cylinder 350cc. I just sold my BSA A65 Lightning after owning it for a dozen years. Look on Classic Motorcycle Day for some of my videos. I can offer a documentary about your bike or project, live-streaming, video production and editing. Lately, lot’s of customers have dropped off old tapes of various formats (VHS, etc.) and even some old Kodak 8mm films for transfer to DVD or digital files.

COMBAT THE COVID-19 CRAZINESS
Update Your Resume For Free!
We’re still here for you! Some changes due to the coronavirus are in place.
Like most businesses, these days, we’ve had to make some adjustments due to the virus outbreak. The following is a message from Morton’s BMW owner Jeff Massey:
To help protect the health of our employees and their families, our customers and their families, and our BMW community at large, we have reviewed the CDC guidelines with respect to the COVID-19 virus and are addressing the situation as follows:
We have installed sanitizer stations around the store – they can be found outside the showroom bathrooms, on the support column in the customer lounge, in the customer service entrance by the door, and in the employee break room. We also have informative signage in those places advising of the benefits of hand washing and using sanitizer. Please take a moment to read them.
Employees who feel ill or have family members who feel ill are encouraged to remain home and self quarantine until it can be determined what they actually have.
We are wiping down surfaces (phones, computers, and work areas) frequently with a bleach solution.
We have already cancelled some events and postponed others to comply with current recommendations concerning group size. The Spring Fling has been moved to September; the May 2 GPS Fun Day with Dana and Bruce Beisner has been postponed with a replacement date TBD. Please watch our Facebook page and website, as well as this email newsletter, to get the latest information on event scheduling.
We have changed our Thursday hours to close at 6:00 pm instead of 8:00 pm. Other changes may become necessary as this situation continues.
Please make use of our online or phone parts ordering, as well as our night drop system for service to minimize potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
We will be looking into additional ways to provide our services with minimal contact and conforming to the new social distancing norm – such as curbside pickup and drop-off for parts and/or service and electronic signature for repair orders during a no contact pickup or delivery. Watch for updates on that, as well.
If you have questions and/or concerns, please contact us by email or phone. We intend to remain open and operational as long as possible, and we welcome your input and suggestions to make the Morton’s BMW experience as normal and rewarding as possible.

Service Department News
Service procedures in light of COVID-19
We’re sensitive to your needs in this difficult time and want to continue offering the level of service you’ve come to expect from Morton’s BMW. We are open for your business as usual, but understand you might not want to risk physical contact. If that’s the case, please note the options listed below.
For before/after hours service drop-off, or if you just don’t want to have physical contact with our staff, please fill out one of the envelopes located outside the service department (see photo), add your bike’s key, and then deposit the envelope through the slot in the service department door to the right. If you call ahead, we can email you a repair order to sign before you come to drop off your bike.
If you prefer not to, or cannot leave your residence to get your bike here, we can arrange for pickup of your motorcycle and/or delivery back to you. Here are your options:
If your bike is covered by BMW Roadside Assistance or another towing plan, and it is disabled and cannot be ridden to the shop (dead battery, flat tire, etc.), contact Roadside Assistance and they will bring your bike to us.
If you need regular service and would prefer not to, or cannot get your bike to us, we can transport your bike to and from our store. We will cover the first 25 miles (via Google Maps) at no charge to you. Any additional mileage will be charged a nominal fee. This offer is good through 4/30/2020. Our service staff can answer any questions you have.
If you have a K series motorcycle subject to the transmission recall and have received a letter from BMW to that effect, we will be happy to pick up and/or return your bike within a 50-mile radius (via Google Maps) at no charge to you. If you are beyond 50 miles, we will still cover the first 50 miles and charge a nominal fee for the additional mileage. This offer is also good through 4/30/2020 and, again, our service staff can answer any questions you have.
Please note: The service department opens at 8:30 AM and closes half an hour before the main store (e.g., 5:30 PM when the main store closes at 6:00 PM).
For immediate response to a service request, please call the service department at 540-891-9844.
